Whole Hog Photo Contest
Camp Taji, Iraq: SFC Sean Powell gets the grill going in the back of a Hummer to cook some canned turkey breasts sent over for Thanksgiving by family members. In his own words: "Didn't even get bombed that day. Just goes to show, our Military will always persevere." And we say, Amen! Simple rules: just send in a photo that has anything to do with BBQ -- deck on fire, birds nesting in the old Weber, you know. Contest ends the week before Father's Day. Just email it to: info@wholehogcafenlr.com or bring it on in. Got a great barbecue photo? Come on, show us your stuff!

BUZZ BQ
Come see us this Saturday, May 14th at the Buzz BQ. We'll be booth number 12 at the Northshore Riverwalk Park East (also known as the RV Park). There will be live music all day; and best of all, we'll be giving out our phenomenal pulled pork sandwiches from 12:30 to 2:30 or until they run out. Come see us!

Lt. Col. Vaughn moves on
This past Saturday we held a going away luau at Whole Hog NLR for Lt. Col. John Vaughn. J.V. is Commander of the 48th Airlift Squadron, the training squadron for the C130J for which I'm the Honorary Commander. J.V.'s new post happens to be in Hawaii for the next three years (tough luck). Please join me in wishing him bon voyage. I just hope he can find some decent barbecue over there.
